“Messager” a series of black and white images explores and documentation the urban landscape in Cabramatta, the Vietnamese diaspora community’s lives and works since 1975’s. Children’s kits are a symbol and metaphor in this work. My childhood memories often going up to my family house rooftop seat and watched into the sky and daydreamed of the unknown world. flying my kits became a ritual for many Vietnamese kids to get away from the daily chaos and witness the brutal events during the Vietnam war. Children made and decorated our toys, transforming our kits into the Messager’s device of their dream, it becomes a competition of who can fly highest and beauty into the sky, sending our thought and dreams to our loved ones and others of the world.
